Panera & Purses:  A bit about Kelly & Jen

With 125 combined years of teaching experience at the middle school, high school and college levels, Kelly and Jen are celebrating their fourth NCTE appearance.  You might recognize them from Choices and Voices:  A Creative Approach to Teaching Research

Kelly enjoys being the faculty adviser for the knitting club, escaping the big city of Hudsonville for the quieter realms of Walden Woods, and trying to achieve varsity status for our table tennis team.  Her seventeen children are home schooled in order to better attend to her twelve cats, fourteen dogs, and two gerbils (Squeakers and Nibblets).   In the summer months, Kelly travels to NYC to help sell second-hand designer purses on the street corners.

Jen has three children (Anaphora, Essay and Metaphor) and enjoys teaching them the dances of the 1980s (the moonwalk, the sprinkler, the cabbage patch and the running man).  Jen is an avid collector of used Panera cups and Goodwill shoes.  In addition to teaching, Jen also moonlights as the night janitor of a local Toys R Us.  In her spare time, she publishes bogus articles for Wikipedia to see how long they will remain on the site.
